If you have any special education needs or questions, he can be reached at TCarco@winchesterps.org. Welcome Tom!
Please see the note below from Ms. Cremens.
I wanted to personally reach out and share my news that I will not be returning to Ambrose. I have accepted the position of Special Education Out of District Supervisor for all of Winchester Public Schools. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the Ambrose community. Over the past two years, I’ve had the joy of watching your children grow, learn, and flourish. Your trust, partnership, and support have been vital in creating the nurturing and inspiring environment that makes Ambrose so special.
Thank you once again for the opportunity to be part of your child’s journey.
Assistant Principal
I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Mrs. Gina Keating as our new assistant principal.
Mrs. Keating is excited to join Ambrose Elementary as the new Assistant Principal. Below is a short note from her.
After spending the past 12 years living and working in California, I’m thrilled to return to Massachusetts to be closer to friends and family. My background includes roles as an Assistant Principal of Student Support and Instructional Coach, along with many years in the classroom as both a classroom teacher and special education teacher. I’m passionate about supporting teachers, fostering student growth, and building strong, collaborative relationships. I look forward to being a part of the Ambrose community and getting to know the staff, students, and families. Welcome Gina!
Literacy Coach and Math Specialist
I am pleased to announce Ms. Lynn Mazzocchi as our new Literacy Coach and Math Specialist. Below is a note from Lynn.
I’m thrilled to start this year at Ambrose as the new Literacy Coach and Math Specialist. I’ve been teaching in Winchester for the past 18 years, most of that time at Muraco Elementary, where I worked in special education, as a reading specialist, and as a classroom teacher.
I’m passionate about helping all students grow into confident readers, writers, and thinkers, and I enjoy partnering with teachers to support and build on the meaningful and engaging learning already happening in classrooms.
Outside of school, I love spending time near any body of water, whether it’s a lake, pond, pool, or the ocean, and Cape Cod is one of my favorite places to relax and recharge.
I’m excited to get to know the students, staff, and families at Ambrose and to be part of such a welcoming and dedicated school community! Welcome Lynn!

Being on time for school and having consistent attendance is essential for building strong academic foundations and healthy school habits. When children attend school regularly, they are more engaged in learning, build stronger relationships with teachers and peers, and develop the routines that support long-term success. Every day counts—missing even a few days can impact a child’s confidence and progress. Let’s work together to set your child up for a strong and successful school year!

Lunch will be free for all students this school year. Here is a link to the September menu. Families will receive menus each month.
If your child wishes to purchase water, an additional milk or other a la carte items, they will be charged. To place money in your child's account and to learn more please visit myschoolbucks.com.
Breakfast will now be offered for students each morning in the cafeteria beginning at 7:50 am. Students who would like breakfast should enter the building through the main entrance and go to the cafeteria. At 8:00 AM all students will line up with their classrooms. Breakfast will begin on Monday, September 8th.

The beginning of the school year is a crucial time for establishing classroom routines, setting clear expectations, and building positive relationships. It’s also an important time for fostering social connections and emotional well-being. At Ambrose, we use the RULER program as our core social-emotional learning curriculum. RULER helps students build skills in emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and empathy.
If your child may need extra support with arrival routines or transitioning into the school day, please don’t hesitate to reach out to their classroom teacher, our school psychologist/SEL Coach, or the principal before the first day of school. We’re here to support every child in having a positive and successful start!

Pets on School Grounds
For the safety and comfort of all students, dogs are not permitted on school property. We understand that many children are fearful of dogs, so we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing pets during arrival and dismissal. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
Lost and Found
To help us return lost belongings to their rightful owners, please be sure to label all of your child’s items with their full name. Last year, we donated many gently used items—beautiful coats, sweatshirts, and sweaters—to ENKA simply because they were unclaimed. We’d much rather return them to you!
Thank you for your help! 😊
